HTML Charset:-

HTML Charset is also called HTML Encoding. It is used to display the HTML page correctly.When we write something, a character is set for the browser to show how the shoe has to be showed.

Below are some charset encodings:

ANSI Character Set:-

Its full name is American National Standard Institute.It supports 256 character set.It is also called Windows-1252.

ASCII Character Set:-

This is for the American standard code.This is the first character encoding standard. It provides 128 different alphanumeric characters that are easily used on the Internet. Numbers (0-9) English words (A-Z) and some special characters like $ + – () <> @.

ISO-8859-1 Character Set:-

It also uses total beats to show characters.

UTF-8 Character Set:-

It covers all the symbols of the world. It is the default character encoding for HTML 5.

UTF-8 HTML4 Syntax:

<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=ISO-8859-1"> 

UTF-8 HTML5 Syntax:

<meta charset="UTF-8">
